ABOUT US

What is the Church of Christ? Are they just another denomination? What do they believe? In this world where there is a church on every corner, it is hard to know the doctrines that a church might hold today. Let's take a look at what the Church of Christ is and what they believe.
One of the most important things that the Church of Christ believes is that there is no other authority other than the Word of God. We do not have any creed book and only use the Bible as our guide. No book written by men has any authority over what the Bible says. Consider this: If a human creed contains more than the Bible it has too much. If it contains less than the Bible, it has too little. If it has the same amount, we do not need it anyway. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work". Does it sound like we need anything else?
Of great importance as well is that the Church of Christ is autonomous or "self governed". This is taught exclusively in the Bible. The Bible places the authority of the local church under the care of Elders as Paul instructed Titus in Titus 1:5-16. Other scriptures include Acts 20:28-30, 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and 1 Peter 5:1-4.
These are just a couple of things that set us apart from many churches today. To find out more about the Churches of Christ, please contact us about a bible study or drop by and attend any of our services we have posted. We look forward to meeting you!
